A Community Project,
the “Uh-huh” Challenge Launches on June 1st
May 17, 2013 | Vancouver, BC –
On International
Children's Day, June 1st 2013, it marks the launch of a community
project, the “Uh-Huh” Challenge. It is a
15-day challenge to unplug from digital devices for two hours each day and
spend it with the family. The intention
of this community project is to bring commitment and awareness of how the
digital world we live in today can become a distraction and interruption.
The “Uh-huh”
Challenge is inspired by Jeanne Liu, a Vancouverite and prospective Early
Childhood Educator, who become curious for the automatic response “Uh-Huh” used
in our daily lives. Liu created the project while participating in a Landmark
leadership program. Part of the
coursework was to create a project that benefits the community. Landmark is an international personal and
professional growth, training and development company that offers unique
educational programs that create breakthrough results for people and
organizations (www.landmarkworldwide.com).
“ It truly is a fun awareness game to take
on for two weeks. What a great way to
challenge your creativity to connect and reconnect with your family,” Liu
states. “ When I had the opportunity to create a project that would make a
difference in the community, this one seemed like a natural. Let the games begin and share your experience
to the world!”
